Dr. Jordan Weeda, DC
Chiropractor In Ashland, Oregon Specializing in the NUCCA Chiropractic Technique
Dr. Jordan Weeda, DC is a North Dakota farmboy who moved West to become a chiropractor. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Dakota, and working for two years in the sales industry, Jordan realized that he was put on this earth to help people, not sell them stuff.
Upon the recommendation of several Minnesota chiropractors, Jordan and his wife Heidi moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to begin chiropractic college at Lifewest, the reported best chiropractic college in the nation. While at Lifewest, Jordan was deeply influenced by the rich Life philosophy of Chiropractic. Jordan exposed himself to a wide variety of chiropractic approaches (see the list below). These all have influenced his work.
Jordan was introduced to NUCCA through a close friend and colleague of his. Latching on to the approach right away, Jordan was able to sit in on the elective class twice before enrolling in it officially. While in his internship at the Lifewest Health Center Jordan was able to care for the majority of his clients using this approach. While in the Bay Area Jordan had the opportunity to work with a number of local NUCCA practitioners. Dr. Michael Zabelin, Dr. Kathy Doyle, Dr. Kim Khauv, Dr. Jamie Stern, and Dr. Christina Meakim all provided counsel and instruction. Jordan also worked as an intern in the office of Meakim and Stern Family Spinal Care and gained valuable practice skills.
Jordan graduated Summa Cum Laude as Salutatorian from Life Chiropractic College West in 2009.
While in the Bay Area Jordan became deeply influenced by the “locavore” philosophy of Michael Pollan. Jordan is a passionate supporter of local and organic farming, CSAs and direct farm to consumer markets, grass-based animal husbandry, and traditional foods. Jordan recognizes not only the profound environmental reverberations of this approach to eating, but the unequivocal influence these foods have on human health. Paul Chek, the health, fitness, and spiritual guru from San Diego, CA is also a great influence.
Jordan and his wife Heidi discovered Ashland on a road trip through the Pacific Northwest. They were immediately drawn by the beauty of the Rogue Valley and the profound sense of community here. It has been said that “home is where the heart is” and even after traveling back to the Midwest to be with family, Jordan and Heidi felt themselves being drawn back to Ashland. In mid-November Jordan, Heidi, and their new daughter Elle settled in Ashland and began to build Wellspring Centre for Body Balance. The practice opened its doors on Feb 1, 2010.
Since then, Wellspring Centre for Body Balance has grown from a small one-room office to the facility it is today. The Weeda’s have since welcomed a second daughter, Aryn, and a little boy, Felix. When he’s out of the office, Dr. Weeda enjoys spending time in the garden, working on home remodeling projects, camping, and spending time outdoors in this beautiful valley we call home. Dr. Weeda also enjoys music, and regularly performs with the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers.
